Jeff Denham Fails to Join Resolution Regarding Protections for Pre-Existing Conditions
(Modesto,CA) -- Earlier this week, a group of Congressional Republicans signed onto a resolution stating Congress must support protections for those with pre-existing conditions. Despite the fact that this was a hollow gesture and does nothing to actually protect people’s healthcare coverage, Rep. Jeff Denham failed to do even the bare minimum and sign onto the resolution.
Denham’s silence comes after he abandoned Central Valley residents on healthcare last year. After promising to protect coverage for those with pre-existing conditions in a public town hall, he went back to Washington and voted to strip coverage.
Josh Harder released the following statement:
“Jeff Denham’s inaction on even this simple resolution speaks volumes about how much he prioritizes healthcare coverage for the Central Valley. After his vote just last year to take healthcare away from over 100,000 of his own constituents, he continues take money from large pharmaceutical companies while prescription drug costs soar and the Central Valley pays more money for healthcare.
