Josh Harder Starts the General Election Off Strong, Releasing Impressive Fundraising Numbers and Raising over $1.25 million in Q2

(Modesto) Josh Harder, challenging Rep. Denham in California’s 10th Congressional District, started his run for the general election on a strong note, raising $1.25 million in contributions during the second quarter for a total of over $2.5 million. Over 73,000 people have now donated to Harder’s campaign, with an average contribution of $25.65. This lies in stark comparison to Denham, who received almost 70% of his contributions from Corporate PACs and special interests, according to his last published fundraising report. For comparison of how this ranks to other Democratic candidates in previous elections, Michael Eggman received $182,024 in Q2 2016 and $174,115 in Q2 2014.

“The primary results show Denham is one of the most unpopular sitting members of Congress in all of California,” said Josh Harder. “Folks in our community recognize we need a representative who won’t just deliver talking points; we need someone who will actually deliver, by voting to make sure that Central Valley families have access to affordable health care and that DREAMers are protected.”

Rep. Denham received the second lowest vote count of any sitting member of Congress in California at just over 37% of the primary vote.
